A schedule I controlled substance is a drug, substance, or chemical that has a high potential for abuse; has no currently accepted medical value; and is subject to regulatory controls and administrative, civil, and criminal penalties under the Controlled Substances Act.</p> <p>The temporary scheduling order issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration to place fentanyl-related substances into schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act expires on December 31, 2024.</p>","updateDate":"2024-07-24T15:23:24Z"},"markets":[],"stateBills":[],"meta":{"sources":["congress.gov"],"latencyMs":337,"ts":"2026-04-17T08:21:04.464Z"},"nextActions":{"inspect":[],"related":[{"description":"Search related legislation","method":"GET","url":"/api/public/query-gov?q=CEASE%20Overdose%20Act%20of%202023"}]}}
