Analysis

The yield curve exhibits a pronounced downward slope across the 98-day tenor, with probabilities declining sharply as one moves through the constituent markets. The highest YES probabilities cluster in the 96–99% range (KXMLBSTATCOUNT-26CYCLE-AH-4 at 99%, KXMLBSTATCOUNT-263030-1 at 98%, and several HR markets at 96%), while the cheapest YES probabilities fall to 1–2% in the tail markets (KXMLBSTATCOUNT-263030-7, KXMLBSTATCOUNT-264040-2, and KXMLBSTATCOUNT-263030-5). The steepest decline occurs in the mid-range, where probabilities drop from 79–87% down to 28–48% across the ITPHR and HR-AH tranches. This steep downward slope is characteristic of a market pricing a highly concentrated outcome distribution rather than a flat or uniform distribution of possibilities. The shape of this curve signals that the market is highly confident a specific event will occur—likely a particular statistical threshold or outcome in baseball—but is uncertain about the precise magnitude or secondary conditions. The clustering of very high probabilities (96–99%) combined with rapid deterioration into single-digit tail probabilities suggests the market expects a dominant scenario to materialize with near-certainty, while assigning minimal probability to alternative outcomes. The absence of any upward inflection or secondary mode indicates no meaningful belief in a competing scenario; instead, the market is pricing a binary or near-binary outcome with strong conviction around one resolution path over the 98-day horizon.

How to read this page

An outcome slate is a set of mutually-exclusive contracts that all settle on the same date. Their YES probabilities form a distribution over which outcome the market expects. Probabilities should roughly sum to 100% minus the venue’s overround.

Curve construction: each constituent contract is identified by its venue event_id (KXMLBSTATCOUNT on kalshi). Tenor is computed from the contract’s close_time minus snapshot time, rounded to days. We do not interpolate between tenors — every plotted point is a real, traded contract. Outcome-slate pages show price-as-probability for mutually-exclusive contracts; term-structure pages show price-as-probability vs days-to-resolution for the same underlying event.

How we compute these odds

SimpleFunctions aggregates live prediction-market contracts from Kalshi and Polymarket. Each slug groups contracts that resolve on the same underlying event, identified by venue event_id.

For binary slugs, the headline probability is the liquidity-weighted mid-price across all bound contracts. For multi-outcome slugs (e.g. elections with 3+ candidates), the headline is the leader’s price; we never arithmetically average disjoint outcomes — that would produce a number with no real-world meaning.

Snapshots refresh every 5 minutes during market hours; daily aggregates are computed at 04:00 UTC. The 30-day sparkline is drawn from per-ticker daily means stored in market_indicator_daily; 24h delta and movement events are derived from the same source.
