Analysis

The yield curve for KXPGATOP10 is entirely flat, with all 50 constituent markets sharing an identical 33-day tenor. This flat structure prevents traditional yield-curve analysis of steepening or flattening dynamics. Within this single tenor bucket, YES probabilities range from a low of 5.0% (MMCC) to a high of 70.0% (SSCH), revealing substantial dispersion across the constituent markets. The cheapest YES probability sits at 5.0%, while the median probability across all markets is approximately 18.5%. The high-volume markets show mixed signals: HMAT trades at 28%, JKNA at 22%, MFIT at 36%, and LABE at 41%, suggesting meaningful disagreement about which specific outcomes within this event family are most likely. The flat tenor structure indicates that this prediction market is designed to resolve within a fixed 33-day window, leaving no information about the market's expectations for timing variation across different resolution dates. The wide probability dispersion—spanning from single digits to 70%—reflects genuine uncertainty about which constituent will satisfy the TOP10 criteria, rather than uncertainty about *when* the event occurs. The market is essentially saying that resolution will happen in 33 days, but participants are highly uncertain about which specific outcome will materialize. The concentration of trading volume in mid-to-high probability markets (HMAT, MFIT, SBUR, LABE, RMCI, XSCH) suggests these are viewed as the most likely candidates, while the low-probability outliers represent tail-risk scenarios that traders are willing to price but not actively accumulate.

How to read this page

An outcome slate is a set of mutually-exclusive contracts that all settle on the same date. Their YES probabilities form a distribution over which outcome the market expects. Probabilities should roughly sum to 100% minus the venue’s overround.

Curve construction: each constituent contract is identified by its venue event_id (KXPGATOP10 on kalshi). Tenor is computed from the contract’s close_time minus snapshot time, rounded to days. We do not interpolate between tenors — every plotted point is a real, traded contract. Outcome-slate pages show price-as-probability for mutually-exclusive contracts; term-structure pages show price-as-probability vs days-to-resolution for the same underlying event.

How we compute these odds

SimpleFunctions aggregates live prediction-market contracts from Kalshi and Polymarket. Each slug groups contracts that resolve on the same underlying event, identified by venue event_id.

For binary slugs, the headline probability is the liquidity-weighted mid-price across all bound contracts. For multi-outcome slugs (e.g. elections with 3+ candidates), the headline is the leader’s price; we never arithmetically average disjoint outcomes — that would produce a number with no real-world meaning.

Snapshots refresh every 5 minutes during market hours; daily aggregates are computed at 04:00 UTC. The 30-day sparkline is drawn from per-ticker daily means stored in market_indicator_daily; 24h delta and movement events are derived from the same source.
