Analysis

The yield curve for KXPGATOP5 exhibits a flat structure across all 50 constituent markets, as every contract shares an identical 33-day tenor to resolution. Within this single tenor bucket, probabilities display substantial dispersion, ranging from a floor of 3.0% (ABHA, ARAI, ECOL, JPOS, MMCC, NECH, RHIS, SSTR, STHE) to a peak of 54.0% (SSCH). The cheapest YES probabilities cluster at the 3.0% level across nine markets, while the most expensive individual contract—SSCH at 54%—stands as a clear outlier. The median probability across all markets sits around 9.0%, suggesting the market prices most constituent outcomes as unlikely within the 33-day window. Volume concentration reveals that the highest-probability contracts (SSCH, WCLA, SBUR, HMAT, LABE) also command the strongest trading activity, indicating these represent the most contested price discovery points. The flat tenor structure prevents traditional yield curve interpretation regarding timing expectations, since all markets resolve simultaneously in 33 days. Instead, the wide probability dispersion reflects the market's differentiation among individual constituent outcomes rather than temporal uncertainty. The market is not expressing a view about *when* the event occurs, but rather *which* outcome within the event family is most likely. The concentration of volume and elevated probabilities in SSCH, WCLA, and SBUR suggests these three constituents are the primary focal points for market participants' conviction, while the nine markets priced at 3.0% represent tail-risk or low-probability scenarios. This distribution pattern indicates the market views the event outcome as genuinely uncertain across multiple scenarios

How to read this page

An outcome slate is a set of mutually-exclusive contracts that all settle on the same date. Their YES probabilities form a distribution over which outcome the market expects. Probabilities should roughly sum to 100% minus the venue’s overround.

Curve construction: each constituent contract is identified by its venue event_id (KXPGATOP5 on kalshi). Tenor is computed from the contract’s close_time minus snapshot time, rounded to days. We do not interpolate between tenors — every plotted point is a real, traded contract. Outcome-slate pages show price-as-probability for mutually-exclusive contracts; term-structure pages show price-as-probability vs days-to-resolution for the same underlying event.

How we compute these odds

SimpleFunctions aggregates live prediction-market contracts from Kalshi and Polymarket. Each slug groups contracts that resolve on the same underlying event, identified by venue event_id.

For binary slugs, the headline probability is the liquidity-weighted mid-price across all bound contracts. For multi-outcome slugs (e.g. elections with 3+ candidates), the headline is the leader’s price; we never arithmetically average disjoint outcomes — that would produce a number with no real-world meaning.

Snapshots refresh every 5 minutes during market hours; daily aggregates are computed at 04:00 UTC. The 30-day sparkline is drawn from per-ticker daily means stored in market_indicator_daily; 24h delta and movement events are derived from the same source.
