This resolution recognizes September 11 as a day of solemn commemoration and extends deepest sympathies to the thousands of innocent victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, and to their families, friends, and loved ones.

- honors the heroism and sacrifices of U.S. military and civil personnel and their families,
- credits the heroism of those who aided the victims of the attacks,
- commends the military and intelligence personnel involved in the removal of Osama bin Laden, and
- reasserts the commitment to opposing violent extremism and vows to disrupt terrorists and their activities.
