Analysis

This 28% probability reflects market estimates that Garth Frizzell has roughly a 1-in-4 chance of becoming Prince George's next mayor in the 2026 election. The relatively low odds suggest other candidates, particularly Kyle Sampson (34%) and Simon Yu (32%), are viewed as stronger contenders. Frizzell's probability would likely increase if he gains name recognition, secures endorsements, or demonstrates stronger polling compared to opponents. Conversely, it could decline if other candidates consolidate support or if campaign missteps emerge. The election itself will definitively resolve this uncertainty once voting concludes, though candidate withdrawals, campaign developments, or public polling releases before election day could shift market estimates substantially.

  • ›Frizzell's current market odds place him third among the three tracked candidates, with Sampson and Yu both assigned higher win probabilities
  • ›Zero trading volume recorded on the Frizzell contract in the past 24 hours, suggesting minimal recent activity or information flow affecting his odds
  • ›Sampson and Yu each hold roughly 33-34% probability, meaning the market currently assigns them stronger chances despite a three-way race
  • ›The election outcome depends on factors including voter turnout, campaign effectiveness, local issues prioritization, and potential candidate endorsement patterns
  • ›As the election date approaches, new polling data, candidate statements, or local news developments would likely drive material shifts in probability estimates

How we compute these odds

SimpleFunctions aggregates live prediction-market contracts from Kalshi and Polymarket. Each slug groups contracts that resolve on the same underlying event, identified by venue event_id.

For binary slugs, the headline probability is the liquidity-weighted mid-price across all bound contracts. For multi-outcome slugs (e.g. elections with 3+ candidates), the headline is the leader’s price; we never arithmetically average disjoint outcomes — that would produce a number with no real-world meaning.

Snapshots refresh every 5 minutes during market hours; daily aggregates are computed at 04:00 UTC. The 30-day sparkline is drawn from per-ticker daily means stored in market_indicator_daily; 24h delta and movement events are derived from the same source.
